Position Description
The Radiologic Technology Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students enrolled in the Radiologic Technology program. This position ensures students gain the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to successfully enter the radiologic technology profession. The instructor will teach courses in didactic, laboratory and clinical settings, provide mentorship, and ensure compliance with accreditation and certification standards.
Reports to: Radiologic Technology Director
Supervises: Adjuncts as needed
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time faculty position primarily on-campus role with classroom, laboratory, and clinical site responsibilities. Generally, days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work may include evenings/weekends for planned school events. There may be times when travel is required for off-site clinicals.
Physical Demands:
The duties of this position are sedentary in nature with lectures in a classroom setting and labs in the simulation center; some standing, bending, twisting, climbing and lifting/moving objects up to 25 lbs. daily may be required.
Position Essential Duties
1. Mastery of Subject Matter
* Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of their field or discipline.
* Display an ability to interpret and evaluate the theories of their field or discipline.
* Connect their subject matter with related fields.
* Stay current in their subject matter through professional development, involvement in professional organizations, and attending professional meetings, conferences, or workshops.
* Reviews and reports on the program’s content and assessment to meet Higher Learning Commission requirements.
* Learn and use technology to enhance teaching and the educational experience when appropriate.
2. Teaching Performance
* Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in radiologic technology courses, including both theory and lab components.
* Ensure course content aligns with AART (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and JRCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology) standards.
* Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs.
* Employ available instructional technology, i.e. the internet, interactive technology, simulation when appropriate.
* Encourage the development of communication skills and critical thinking skills through appropriate assignments.
* Contribute to the selection and development of instructional materials in accordance with course objectives.
* Incorporate core competencies into curriculum.
* Promote student success by building positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students and colleagues at WDTC.
* Develop, update and post course syllabi in a timely manner.
3. Evaluation of Student Learning
* Establish meaningful student/program learning outcomes for courses/program. Ensure students demonstrate competency in radiographic procedures.
* Develop and explain methods that fairly measure student progress toward student/program learning outcomes.
* Create an annual program learning outcome plan, and complete all assessment cycle requirements.
* Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student work promptly to promote maximum learning.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters as required after each class according to established deadlines.
* Update and revise course materials as necessary to reflect current industry trends and technological advancements.
4. Support of School’s Policies and Procedures
* Teach classes as assigned.
* Perform job responsibilities as outlined in faculty handbook.
* Adhere to FERPA regulations.
* Substitute for other instructors within field or discipline in case of an absence.
* Exercise stewardship of school’s facilities and materials.
* Record and provide attendance data in accordance with school’s policies and procedures.
5. Participation in Western Dakota Technical College Program Activities
* Serve on committees as assigned.
* Participate in meetings and events required by WDTC administrators.
* Respond in a timely fashion to information requests from colleagues and administrators.
* Contribute to program curriculum development processes and assessment.
* Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills in communication with students, colleagues, staff and administrators as an individual or as a part of a team.
6. Contribution to Growth and Enhancement of School’s Mission and Programs
* Maintain familiarity with school’s strategic goals, mission, and long-range plans.
* Contribute to planning and development processes through appropriate mechanisms and channels.
* Participate in professional activities that contribute to the educational goals of the school and its constituents.

Additional Information
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology, Radiography, or a related field is required. Master's Degree in Radiologic Sciences, Education, Healthcare Administration preferred, and a minimum of two years of clinical experience in the professional discipline. This role is the acting Clinical Coordinator per JRCERT role descriptions. Certifications and Licenses: ARRT ® Certification and active registration in the primary discipline of radiography JRCERT experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Proficient in skills related to the program’s operations. 2. Fundamentals of curriculum design and development. 3. Fundamentals of classroom management. 4. WDTC policies and procedures. 5. Fundamentals and principles of learning in addition to teaching methodologies. 6. Methods and techniques used in student assessment, students in classroom and lab settings. 7. Program development, assessment and implementation of procedures and practices. Skilled in: 1. Ability to counsel and instruct students in a professional manner and appearance. 2. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in all group sizes. 3. Demonstrated ability in oral and written communication skills. 4. Demonstrated expertise in project management and problem solving. 5. Ability to organize, manage and complete timeline projects over multiple-year periods. 6.
