Director of Residential Services

Position Summary:

The Director of Residential Services plays a crucial role in leading and empowering a diverse team to support individuals in achieving their personal goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of finance, performance management, and business strategies.

Education and Experience:

* This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
* Minimum of two years of direct experience in supporting people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

Required Skills/Abilities:

* Ability to pass drug test.
* Ability to pass criminal background test.
* Proven capability to effectively manage a wide range of responsibilities.
* Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight for residential homes
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Valid driver’s license with insurability and a clean driving record required.
* Candidates must have the ability to pass a qualifying criminal background check and drug test.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Oversee budget management for residential homes, maximizing efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Analyze financial statements, identify cost-effective strategies, and make adjustments to enhance profitability while minimizing losses.
3. Provide direct supervision and support to leadership teams to ensure quality services are delivered in line with organizational mission and objectives, including managing the upkeep of residential homes.
4. Develop and implement effective plans and objectives for the department, assessing and reporting progress towards meeting goals.
5. Lead, teach, coach and ensure accountability of the frontline leaders and work collaboratively with the Workforce managers to develop and maintain schedules that accommodate individual requests for time off, including Paid Time Off (PTO), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other relevant considerations while prioritizing the highest level of care for the individuals we serve.
6. Oversee overall performance of the department and maintain communication systems for residential homes.
7. Support and mentor frontline leaders in home management, including schedule development, team supervision, regulatory compliance (HCBS, ARSD, DOH, CQL, Fee for Service), and the implementation of individual plans and essential support services.
8. Serve on organizational committees and provide training for leadership and frontline teams as required.
9. Support residential teams in problem-solving and accessing additional support services as needed.
10. Foster a culture of collaboration and empowerment among teams, promoting transparent communication and decision-making.
